Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari / Trial Version

The trial version for Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari is out! This is one of the upcoming PC otome games I'm keeping my eyes on. The other being Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori (Mr Big Bad Wolf ohohoho).

Downloaded and played through it over the weekend. Decided to do a spontaneous flailing commentary post. This is NOT a review.

This is a story about a girl named Lucky Yuriko, a daughter of a viscount. It's her birthday and her parents are throwing a big party for her. However she's not excited at all because she knows that her family is having money problems (thanks to her spendthrift mother) and can't afford such luxury so it baffles her as to why they are doing this. Plus she's not really fond of all the socializing with the ~upper class~ society and shit.

Turns out that the reason for the lavish party is to find her a suitable husband so that she can quickly get married to some eligible guy before people find out that her family is all but an empty shell and she gets left on the shelf (rhyme not intended).

Then her father gets shot for no reason (or is there one?) and her mother fell ill. Money is slowly but surely dwindling. Her older step-brother who took over the role of the head of household couldn't care less and continued his libertine ways. (God is this some kind of English historical romance novel, what with viscounts and libertines and shit.) Things are looking truly dark for Yuriko when along came a suave-looking and obviously rich businessman who says that he will save her family and in exchange she will have to marry him YES PLEASE. Insulted, Yuriko angrily asked him to gtfo which he did but not before saying he'll return lol.

Yup. That's about it. For now. Oh, by the way, this story takes place in the Taisho period, which I find really interesting since I haven't played any otomes games set in the "olden" times before. Unless you count the "past life" arc in Hoshi no Oujo 2.

On to the individual characters:

First we have Shiba-san, the businessman.

OMG.

Then we have Hideo, the childhood friend.

OMG.

幼馴染キャラ最高！！！

ツンデレ幼馴染キャラもっと最高！！！

Next is Mizuhito, the older step-brother.

INCEST!!!

Oops, I mean マジで？！

It's a little creepy to hear him go 「僕の可愛い百合子。」 but disregarding his status as the step-brother, the way he goes 「ユリコ」 is just... （（≧ω≦））

Then we have the manservant Majima.

まあ、好青年って感じ？？？

But I somehow feel that there's an ura to him???

Finally, we have Fujita, the 37 years old butler.

EWWW OLD MAN EWWW. D:

I mean given the setting, Yuriko must be like what? Below 20? And he's 37! Nearly DOUBLE her age!!!

At the end of the trial, we have some sneak previews of the rabu scenes with each guy. Shiba-san, Hideo and Mizuhito had really beautiful CGs!!! I swear the images were brimming with passion. Well, at least Shiba-san's was. (*´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ And Hideo's haa haa voice is just... (*´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ

Majima and Fujita's CGs were, well, showing full-frontal view of their manliness...with mosaic of course. Pr0n anyone? Majima's one was like "uhhh okay I guess I can just concentrate looking at your pretty face" but Fujita's one was like "ewww". *retch* You JUST had to include a creepy character don't you, Aromarie??? (Okay, to be fair he doesn't sound bad and he doesn't look that bad in his cut-out form but that CG? No thank you.)

Obvious who my favourite characters are. 8D

Actually I thought I'd like Majima better...but hey, this is only the prologue. I may change my mind when I eventually get to play the game!

Oh yeah, and if Aromarie's previous releases were anything to go by, I guess we'll be having a 3P scene somewhere??? Please don't let Fujita be one of the chosen ones. PLEASE.

Oh and last thing, THEY ACTUALLY CALL YOU BY YOUR NAME IF YOU STICK TO THE DEFAULT NAME!!! I wish more games would do that. ;_;
