I used to do my rantings on my personal journal, which was all fine and dandy...until I stepped into the forbidden paradise i.e. 18-kin mwahaha. From that point on, it got a bit awkward and I couldn't rant as freely as I like knowing that my real-life friends (who do not appreciate such stuff) are reading my journal. That, plus my regular stalking of various otome game review blogs, motivated me to start my own otaku blog where I can just GO WILD. :D
This blog will mainly focus on otome games (my greatest addiction out of the four evils haha), with occasional posts on drama CDs, anime and manga.
◆◇◆ Anime ◆◇◆
My first anime was probably...Doraemon? Lol. Okay, technically speaking, my anime addiction started after I re-watched Fruits Basket in subbed version. Before that, it was just casual watching of Chinese-dubbed animes on TV. Only until I got my Broadband and when streaming sites started becoming popular did I start to hold anime watching marathons and stuff. Fruits Basket is the first anime I declared as my favourite. Followed by Ouran High School Host Club. There were a couple more I watched along the way but the addiction eventually faded when I couldn't find anything that interests me. I have no idea why but it's super difficult to find an anime I really like! In fact, I haven't watched any new titles since Lucky Star in 2007...until I found Gintama in 2011! 8D I'm so glad this thing is like 200+ episodes long because it means I'd have something to watch for a good while yet.
◆◇◆ Manga ◆◇◆
My first manga was...Sailor Moon. But that was way back when I was in primary school...and I didn't even finish the whole thing haha. Technically speaking (again), the first title that kicked off my manga maniac journey was...I don't want to say it. It's too embarassing. XD Let's just say the story involves...smut...and lolicon. No, don't ask. It was by accident I swear. But yes, I started out via reading smut. 8D Though I'd say the title that got me truly addicted to manga was Haou Airen. (Even though I say that, I wouldn't recommend this title to a manga newbie. Too hardcore.)
◆◇◆ Otome Game ◆◇◆
I first got to know about otome games through watching Lucky Star and got my first taste of it through playing Web Kare (lol) back in 2008. Not sure how it happened but I eventually got to know the term "otome game" and stumbled upon a few blogs doing reviews of such games. Then I started visiting various game makers' websites and downloaded a few trial games to try. At first I was satisfied with just playing the trials...until I stumbled upon Sumire no Tsubomi. It was like KANADE LOVE!!! XD I knew I just HAD to get my hands on the whole game...which I did later on. The rest, as they say, is history. :D
◆◇◆ Drama CD ◆◇◆
My interest for drama CDs stemmed from otome games. One of my favourite otome game bloggers happened to review an Under The Moon drama CD. Her hilarious writing style got me really interested and as I was searching for that particular drama CD online, I discovered a bunch of other otome game related drama CDs (mostly the tokutens) and later the famous Seiza Kareshi (and Danna) series by honeybee. Next thing I know, I was madly searching the Net for more of such goodness and eventually attained enlightenment on the concept of "voice moe". :D
