KISS×KISS collections Vol.19-21!!!!!!

Many thanks to Oppareul who notified me about this on my previous KISS×KISS collections post or else I'd have been tragically uninformed.

So, what kind of kisses do we have this time?

Never heard of this seiyuu...is what I thought. Until I checked Wiki and realised he voiced Vol.1 "Otona no Kiss". Hah. Nande darou. Why re-use a seiyuu? Anyways, this character kind of reminds me of Kamio Reiji from Gin no Kanmuri Ao no Namida. The laid-back I-work-whenever-I-feel-like-it carefree kind of guy. Not exactly my cup of tea but I'm still gonna listen to this.

Vol.21 「ハットトリックキス」 小宮 亮 （CV:細谷佳正）
Vol.21 "Hat Trick Kiss" Komiya Ryou (CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa)

Never heard of this seiyuu so no comments on him. The character design, on the other hand, seems quite promising so am pretty looking forward to this volume.

Up till now, my favourite KISS×KISS collections volumes are still Flying Kiss and Innocence Kiss. No other volumes are able to hit all the right spots like these two. (I still enjoy them but not to the extent of re-listening to them like I do with Flying Kiss and Innocence Kiss.) I'm hoping that I'll be able to get another hit out of these three new volumes. On top of that, I'm also hoping that AIR LABEL will get Tachibana Shinnosuke, Katou Masayuki and Kondou Takashi to do a volume some day.

Random Observation

Just get the feeling that Saitou Hajime (Hakuouki) and Alfred (Moujuutsukai to Oujisama) give off similar vibes. Fact that they have the same seiyuu aside.

Am in the process of, uh, getting it (shhh) now, and I'm already grinning like an idiot.

Trick or Treat?

I'm most probably late on this but in case any one of you still has no idea, Honeybee has put up special Halloween website...which is password-protected.

That, and apparently Miyaji has stolen the Halloween party candies and is nowhere to be found ahahaha. I almost forgot that he's got a giant sweet tooth. XD

Anyway, the deal is that you have to count the number of Miyajis appearing throughout the entire Starry Sky portal and use it as the password to access the website. Or perhaps you'd rather do trial and error if you're too lazy to count like me. Up to you. :P

So, September has been a rather inactive month for this blog, otome gaming wise. I apologise for my laziness in completing my next review post but I'm gonna be honest and confess that I'm on an otome-gaming low at the moment. This is mainly due to three reasons: 1. Fujita made me lose interest in Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari /oldmendiscriminationoops, 2. I forgot about 3/4 of Delta's story in Ijiwaru My Master and is thus not as enthusiastic about commenting on it as compared to Leon's story and 3. I'm guessing that I'm out of estrogen at the moment, and am thus preferring to kill monsters in RPGs than flirting with bishies in otome games.

BUT! This is not a permanent thing. I still love mah otome games. I just happen to be a very fickle person who flits around between her multiple interests. Right now, I'm juggling between reading Gintama fanfiction, writing a Gintama dream novel (first time writing fanfiction!) and playing the SNES version of Final Fantasy VI.

Man, I'm such a life-waster. *shakes head*

Another Milestone

Haven't been playing a lot of otome games lately, except for Starry Sky ~in Spring~ Portable (pillow fight scene ftw). Instead, I'm spending most of my time reading Gintama fanfiction.

I want to continue with Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari but whenever I see Fujita and his pale old face (GOMENASAI FUJITA FANS m(_ _)m) it's like zzz and I don't feel like playing anymore. XD Not even Majima can motivate me to get Fujita's route over and done with. Ha.

Then there are times when I feel like playing a new otome game but seeing so many half-played games installed on my bloated laptop holds me back. Meh.

Yesterday (or rather, this morning...at 1am), I decided to watch Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. ONLY BECAUSE I SAW THIS (while searching for anime with Tachibana Shinnosuke in it) AND CRACKED UP LIKE CRAZY:

Then I watched this, this and this, and decided OKAY I'M SO WATCHING THIS EVEN THOUGH IT'S SHOUNEN-AI. I WILL PUT UP WITH ALL THE GUYXGUY STUFF FOR ALL THE LOL ABOUT A BUNCH OF GUYS WORKING IN A SHOUJO MANGA DEPARTMENT. :Dv (Plus it has a great seiyuu cast.)

Dear god. The Gintama!Shinsengumi has never looked so good. （´Д｀*)))ﾊｧﾊｧ Even Jimmy Zaki looks deliciously ikemen. I can just stare at this picture forever. ♥

Just for record, my Shinsengumi ranking: Hijikata Toushirou > Okita Sougo > Kondo Isao = Yamazaki Sagaru. I don't get why Sougo is ranked higher than Hijikata in the popularity poll. I mean I like him and his sadistic antics are teh lol but hey Hijikata is HOT. *fans self* Or did the Tosshi thing ruined his image or something??? I admit to clutching my head and going "wtf nooo" when I was watching the Rebellion arc. That was so kakkowarii. But still!!!

Edit 28/09: Found out that the illustration was done by a Gintama doujinka called Aiki Ren. Her works are brilliant!

Starry☆Sky ~After Whatever Season~

You think honeybee will port the After games to PSP? （´・ω・｀）

Like after they release After Winter?

I really hope they do. I mean, HOW CAN THEY NOT AFTER PORTING THE MAIN GAMES TO PSP RIGHT. It's like an opportunity to make more moolah out of the franchise. I have the PC version of After Spring and After Summer with me but I'm putting playing them on hold, hoping that a PSP version will be released. (I'm assuming they will add new scenarios and CGs on the PSP version like they did with the main games.)

Good thing I have yet to play in Autumn and in Winter (ya I'm slow I know) so I can still afford to wait. Meanwhile imma just have just to avoid all After-related reviews, picspam, chatter and whatnot like the plague until...next Spring maybe?

"KISS×KISS collections" Continues

Happened to visit KISS×KISS collections website today and saw their new release announcement! \:D/

Three new volumes will be released on 26/08:

Vol.16 「パーソナリティキス」 川原 アキト （CV:森久保祥太郎）
「ばーか、拗ねんなよ。お前、キスしたくてたまんねーって顔してるぜ？」

Haven't heard of this seiyuu but according to Wiki, he voiced Okita Souji from Hakuouki??? Anyway, this volume features an ex-guitarist of a popular band who is now a radio personality (i.e. radio deejay?). A "mai peesu" person who also has a "sabishigariya" side. ギャップ萌え！！！

Vol.17 「わかぞーキス」 草野 守 （CV:岡本信彦）
「先輩、じゃあ…ご褒美にキスして？」

Also haven't heard of this seiyuu but the character he's voicing is a toshi-shita which is like yums. 8D Vol.12 also featured a toshi-shita character which I enjoyed A LOT (Suzumura Kenichi sounded so cute kyaa) so will definitely be making comparisons. When I first saw the profile, I'm concerned that there'll be an overlap but now I'm starting to see some differences. The character for Vol.12 was an "amaenbo" kind of toshi-shita while the one for this seems to be more on the "koakuma" side? Yeah.

Vol.18 「たまゆらキス」 和歌ノ原 幸輝 （CV:鳥海浩輔）
「さあ教えて？誰と、どんなキスをしたい…？」

ToriKou!!! ♥♥♥ But eh, the character he's voicing doesn't really appeal to me. Not at first impression at least. I'm not really into the lazy type of character unless he comes with a large dose of sexiness aka Mizuhito from Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari. But oh well, it's ToriKou! My favourite seiyuu! And looking at the tagline, there is some hope that this character will come with the dose of sexiness I require. I hope he uses the Kanade voice for this one too (he DID use the Kanade voice for Shukan Soine hurray).

Just for record, my favourite KISS×KISS collections volumes so far (in order of preference) are:

1. KISS x KISS collection Vol.11 Flying Kiss
2. KISS x KISS collection Vol.12 Innocence Kiss
3. KISS x KISS collection Vol.14 Focus Kiss

Vol.11 is voiced by Sugita Tomokazu and well the whole volume was an absolute lol. XD I listen to it quite regularly to amuse myself. Vol.12 was SO CUTE I thought I'd die from moe or something. For Vol.14, I didn't enjoy the ENTIRE thing like I did for Vol.11 and Vol.12 but some of the tracks make me laugh my head off. Oh, and Hino Satoshi's kiss noises are just haa-haa. XD

Starry☆Sky ~in Spring~ Portable Get!

Finally got the PSP version! :D

The game arrived yesterday and I started playing it straight away during the night (I like to play otome games in the night for minimal distractions and interruptions). Decided to do the friendship route first before going for the individual guys.

I'm actually quite excited about playing this even though I've played the PC version already. According to some reviews I've read, the "volume-up" in the PSP version is quite substantial and definitely value-for-money even if you've already played the PC version. (Well in the first place, this thing is like half the price of a regular Otomate PSP otome game.) So far I've went through two new scenes (White Day and sakura blossom viewing) (compared to the PC version) and I'm looking forward to the rest! :D In addition, the fact that I already love the characters makes the game more enjoyable this time round. XD Ever since I started listening to Starry Sky drama CDs, I've grown to love the Spring guys a lot. Their interactions with each other always make me lol.

Ugh I'm so excited about this that I feel like ditching my IMM review and jump to this one after I'm done with Leon's review (writing it now). Shall see how it goes.

Shukan Soine Love!!!

Omg I looove the Shukan Soine series. ♥ ♥ ♥

Out of the six CDs released, four of them are by my favourite seiyuus i.e. Toriumi Kousuke (gonna listen to it later), Tachibana Shinnosuke (sexy voice!!!), Terashima Takuma (so cute!!!) and Hirakawa Daisuke (haa haa lol) (in order of preference). Oh man, BlackButterfly, ilu. XD

I hope Toriumi uses his Kanade (Sumire no Tsubomi) voice in the CD. I prefer his Kanade voice over his Yukio (Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi) voice. Tachibana sounded exactly like Yanagi (Sumire no Tsubomi) in his (I can almost pretend it IS Yanagi because even the personality was similar oh man almost fainted in my bed ahaha ahem) and my life would be complete (for the week) if Toriumi uses his Kanade voice here as well. :D

Anyway, I really hope they continue with this series! There're tons of seiyuus whom I hope can participate in this series. Like Katou Masayuki (Shiba-san!!!), Kondou Takashi (Majimaaa!!!), Sugita Tomokazu (Gintoki!!!...plus really loved listening to him in KISS x KISS collection Vol.11 Flying Kiss), Nakai Kazuya (Hijikata-san!!!), Ishida Akira (loved listening to him in Tsun na Petto-kun (Mousou Kareshi series) and Kareshi Igai ~Douryou to no Ayamachi~), Kamiya Hiroshi (Miyajiii!!!), Ono Daisuke (Suzuya!!!) etc. (Fans of Shukan Soine! Any more suggestions?)

Oh by the way, I noticed that BlackButterfly is under the same parent company as honeybee. Just saying. (Also, can I work there please?)

And speaking of honeybee, I hope my Starry Sky ~in Spring~ and Starry Sky ~in Summer~ portables (hurray!) arrive soon. I ordered them two weeks ago. Unfortunately Play-Asia had some problem getting the Summer one (wth) so they decided to ship Spring first last week while Summer was shipped this week. Ugh. Can't wait!!! I've been reading some Starry Sky fanfiction lately and I'm kind of getting into this series again hurhur. (I also hope they will port the After games to PSP. Please do!!! *waves her debit card at honeybee*)

Leon-sama is a lovely tsundere oresama. He's the ruler of a large territory and being an arrogant and selfish man who is prone to violence, he's not well-liked by his people. However, because of the immense amount of power he holds, no one dares to rebel and go against him. Nevertheless, Leon is very popular among women who flock to him eagerly, mainly attracted by his wealth and good looks. He himself also enjoys fooling around with them. That is, until THAT happened.

Actually I've listened to all of the stories except for Issun Boushi and Banchou Sarayashiki. Quite excited to see how they'll game-ify it! I assume they're gonna lengthen the story from the mere 15-20 minutes they had on the drama CD. (What am I saying they obviously have to wtf.)

Personally, I'm hoping they'd retain the implied "haa-haa" scene in Hosokawa Tadaoki's story lol. That was just...haa haa. XD Hirakawa is not my favouritest seiyuu but lately his voice is starting to grow on me. His haa haa voice is just...haa haa lol. ←　わけ分からん。

Okay, seriously I'm really concerned that they may "tame" the stories since it's being ported to PSP. Because I read that Sony has some sort of rules about no pr0n in games for their consoles or something? Not sure about how they set the definitions though...but this one should be okay...right? I mean it's just implied haa-haa. :P

Okay. So, like, I really really liked Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari after playing the trial game and am playing the full game now. Just completed Osaki Hideo's route today (f**k the bad endings I actually cried okay *sobs*) and started on Shiba Junichi's. And I just have to say I LOVE SHIBA-SAN!!!!!! Like even though I was playing Hideo's route, I was ogling at Shiba whenever he appears. Despite the fact that I do like Hideo as well. Tsundere osananajimi characters have always been one of my weak points. But...Shiba is just tooo charming for words. *swoons* Oresama characters are another of my weak points. *double swoons* XD

I actually wanted to save Shiba for the last but decided that ugh, I really can't wait. I have a feeling that if I start on other characters first, I'd probably end up ogling at Shiba and not pay attention to the main stories. So yeah, doing Shiba's route first. *makes excuses*

Also, I've checked the walkthroughs and it looks like there's only one good ending per character. Why???!!! T_T

On another note, I've been feeling quite guilty about neglecting my Ijiwaru My Master review for the last few weeks. Shall force myself to return to it...after I finish Shiba's route. :P

Ijiwaru My Master / Luca (3)

Here's a short(?) afterthoughts post on Luca. ^^

Thoughts

So...LUCA IS CUTE. :D

Considering that Luca is a non-main character, his stories were quite voluminous. In my opinion at least. Or maybe it's because he's the first character I played, so I couldn't compare his story with the main characters' which obviously is going to have more meat.

Anyway, to me, this is almost like a twins story, except that we have the two personalities in one body. I really enjoyed both storylines. Even though there were some overlap between them, it's not exactly a repeat because Luca was in a different mode in most of the overlapped scenes. In fact, I think it's quite interesting to see how Luca behave in the same situations under different modes. It allows the player to interact with both personalities and helps to satisfy different preferences. ^^ Like if you prefer the sexy, go for Storyline 1 and if you prefer cute, go for Storyline 2. I personally prefer the cute arc (Storyline 2) a little more than the sexy arc (Storyline 1). ;)

Endings-wise, I think they are pretty well-written on the whole.

The good endings were literally oozing with sweetness, though the one for Storyline 1 had a slight trace of bitterness. Although I was happy that they got together, the fact that Kurumi can never meet day!Luca again is just... T_T I mean obviously two Lucas are better than one haha. Which is why I prefer the ending for Storyline 2 where our day!Luca finally woke up to his manly senses! Good job Kurumi. *thumbs up* But I imagine it's gonna be tough for her...physically. *wink wink* Then again, she gets to enjoy both worlds hahaha. Anyway, since she became a succubus, she should actually enjoy it hurhur. Lucky her.

For the bad endings, the one for Storyline 1 was a little creepy while the one for Storyline 2 felt a little bit abrupt to me. ^^; Nevertheless, I'd still give both bad endings a passing grade given that there's a "complete" ending and not one that makes me go "Huh???". Yeah.

I used to think bad endings are just bad endings, and it doesn't matter how they end since it sucks either way but having played otome games for some time, I've gradually changed my mindset. Of course, it's not like I like to see the story end badly but I'd give extra points for games with well-written bad endings ON TOP OF well-written good endings. It just gives off an additional air of sincerity from the game makers. Like you know, they even bother to crack their brains for an interesting bad ending.

Yup. So that's it for Luca! Moving on to the next character...though I'm not sure when I will actually post the next review entry since I'm thinking of adopting a new format for my reviews to make them more writer and reader-friendly but have absolutely no idea how it should look like at the moment hahaha. Plus I'm currently hooked on watching Gintama, reading Gintama fanfics and playing Hiiro no Kakera (goddamn why is the story so long). Busy busy otaku here hurhur. ^^;

Kannou Mukashibanashi Portable

I don't know if there're any drama CD addicts out there reading this blog but anyway I just found out today that Otomate is going to be releasing a PSP game for the Kannou Mukashibanashi series omggg!!!

For those who don't know, Kannou Mukashibanashi is a drama CD series produced by 5pb.Inc.. It's basically a story-telling kind of drama CD, where the seiyuus narrate out well-known tales from the past (including acting out the dialogues). And as the title implies, these stories are all given a slightly(?) sensual twist hurhurhur. /sukebe

Also, one of the main features of this drama CD series is the use of dummy head mic for recording. Meaning that the seiyuu will talk to different parts of the "head" during recording, resulting in a more realistic sound effects. So if the character is suppose to whisper into your left ear, you will feel exactly as if someone is whispering into your left ear! The first time I experienced it, I seriously just went "!!!" and squirmed while covering my ear haha.

A total of 7 CDs have been released so far, and each features a unique theme. For example, the 2nd CD features Andersen fairy tales such as The Little Mermaid and the 4th CD (for Starry Sky fans, you might be interested to know that Kazuaki did the cover art for this CD) features Grimm fairy tales such as Hansel & Gretel (how would you like to hear Hansel going 「僕の可愛いグレーテル。」 haha incest zomg).

Anyway, back to the original focus of the post, OMG CAN'T WAIT FOR OCTOBER TO COME!!! :D I seriously have no idea how the game is going to be like since the drama CDs is basically just normal storytelling. How the heck are they going to game-ify it??? Will they be using new stories or those that have been released on the CDs? If it's the latter, I assume they will use the same seiyuu cast??? Really looking forward to more details from Otomate! Currently, the website is still blank. (Also, lol at the genre they set for the game i.e. 朗読型AVG wut.)

Oh, and something I'm really really curious about: are they going to use dummy head mics for the game??? OH PLEASE DO. In fact, I wish they can use such mics for otome games. Imagine what will happen during the rabu scenes lol death from excessive nosebleed wtf.

Add: Okay, according to Kannou Mukashibanahi's production blog, it seems like one of the challenges of the game is to make the correct decisions to "unlock" the dummy head mic (OMG THEY ARE GOING TO USE IT YAY) recorded scenes. Wow. I hope this game inspires other game makers to use dummy head mics for otome games!

Finally. I finally finished my first ever otome game (trials not counted)!!! (Edit 03/05: Okay, this is pretty misleading. I mean that Sumire no Tsubomi is my first otome game and I finally finished it. I've already completed a few games which I started later. Check out here for the list.)

And I swear Mirai has (one of) the longest otome games. =.=

Had a pretty hard time trying to collect all the memories. Thanks to the walkthrough here and hints here, I finally managed to get them all. Whew.

As a result, I'm feeling really tired now. *flops* I think I'll have to leave the fandisc to next weekend instead. I don't want to play it with my mind numbed from the excessive replays to get the missing memories (no, I can't cheat and load from the save points). I want to play it with a fresh mind so that I can allow the moe-ness to fully sink into my consciousness and slowly savour the goodness of it. Yeah. :D

Edit 24/04 5:39pm: Okay, forget it. I can't wait one week. So I'm playing it now. Just cried buckets over Yanagi's after story. *sniffs*

Homo Homo

Just one to mark my first experience in playing through a homo (yuri to be exact) rabu scene in my otome gaming history. Hurhur.

Okay, so what happened is that I FINALLY managed to get my hands on Sumire no Tsubomi's fandisc and am working hard (since yesterday night) to complete the main game so that I can play that. Looking forward to not only the lovely after stories but also capturing the lovely otouto as well. \^o^/

Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari / Trial Version

The trial version for Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari is out! This is one of the upcoming PC otome games I'm keeping my eyes on. The other being Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori (Mr Big Bad Wolf ohohoho).

Downloaded and played through it over the weekend. Decided to do a spontaneous flailing commentary post. This is NOT a review.

This is a story about a girl named Lucky Yuriko, a daughter of a viscount. It's her birthday and her parents are throwing a big party for her. However she's not excited at all because she knows that her family is having money problems (thanks to her spendthrift mother) and can't afford such luxury so it baffles her as to why they are doing this. Plus she's not really fond of all the socializing with the ~upper class~ society and shit.

Turns out that the reason for the lavish party is to find her a suitable husband so that she can quickly get married to some eligible guy before people find out that her family is all but an empty shell and she gets left on the shelf (rhyme not intended).

Then her father gets shot for no reason (or is there one?) and her mother fell ill. Money is slowly but surely dwindling. Her older step-brother who took over the role of the head of household couldn't care less and continued his libertine ways. (God is this some kind of English historical romance novel, what with viscounts and libertines and shit.) Things are looking truly dark for Yuriko when along came a suave-looking and obviously rich businessman who says that he will save her family and in exchange she will have to marry him YES PLEASE. Insulted, Yuriko angrily asked him to gtfo which he did but not before saying he'll return lol.

Yup. That's about it. For now. Oh, by the way, this story takes place in the Taisho period, which I find really interesting since I haven't played any otomes games set in the "olden" times before. Unless you count the "past life" arc in Hoshi no Oujo 2.

Pray for Japan

I'm getting more and more depressed everyday reading/watching/listening to all the updates on the situation in Japan. :(

Here's a list of donation channels to help with the earthquake relief. Please help if you can. Even if it's a little. If you don't have a credit card, try asking your parents, relatives or other adults you're close to to help you donate using their card and pay them back in cash! I plan to donate once I get my pay at the end of the month.

That said, I'm putting this blog a short hiatus till the situation in Japan gets better. Not that it's going be of any help but I'm just not in the mood to squeal over otome games when my favourite country is getting screwed over, not once but numerous times consecutively, by acts of Nature.

Also, to all those people who said things like it's "divine retribution" and other insensitive comments of the like, just...go away. =/

Seiyuus Known Safe

Okay, I'm sure everyone knows about the earthquake thingie by now and the idol fandom world is in chaos with everyone frantically trying to make sure that their idols are safe. Mine are, thank goodness. One was them was in the middle of performing his musical when it happened. I'm SO GLAD that he wasn't doing one of his flying stunts at that moment and was instead waiting behind the curtains for his cue.

Anyway, here's a list of seiyuus who are known to be safe for the otaku fans. There's also a wiki that is keeping track of the names as they come in. Seems like most of the otome game seiyuus I know are safe. All of the Starry Sky seiyuus are on the list...except for Hirakawa Daisuke. Oh god, please be safe. D: Toriumi Kousuke, Tachibana Shinnosuke and Terashima Takuma are safe too.

And um, something to lighten up the mood: some dude getting himself an eroge after the earthquake. Uh... O_O

Ijiwaru My Master / Prologue

Since the prologue itself is quite long, I thought to make a post on it before I move on to the individual characters. I tried to include the details in the First Impression post but it ended up REALLY LONG so yeah, putting it in a separate post.

Kurumi is a typical high school girl who leads a boring and un-happening life...and likes it that way. Her wish is to just float through life peacefully without getting involved in any drama-lama stuff as much as possible. But unfortunately this is impossible, being the heroine of an otome game.


One fine rainy day after school, she was burabura-ing around the streets when she caught sight of a bunch of blue roses at the florist. Fascinated, she stepped closer to look at them, thinking that WOW TECHNOLOGY IS SO ADVANCED THAT WE ACTUALLY MANAGED TO ORGANICALLY PRODUCE BLUE (like really BLUE) ROSES!!! Yeah. Then she heard someone calling her from behind and turned around to see her kouhai Homura-kun smiling at her. ♥ She told Homura about the blue roses and was disappointed when Homura told her that the flowers are just artificially dyed. She then remarked that since blue roses represent "impossibility", if there ever was a day when blue roses could bloom naturally, it'd be a miracle. /awkward translation

Bought it yesterday and my friend who accompanied me was also tempted to get one after seeing it. After having lunch, we actually went to a library, got ourselves a seat in a random corner and started frantically setting it up and then playing with it (yes I bought the game along with me). XD

So, this marks a significant milestone in my gaming history. Who knew my interest in PC otome games would lead to a purchase like this??? :P またレベルアップです！

Ijiwaru My Master / First Impression

Plot

Kurumi is a typical high school girl who leads a boring and un-happening life...and likes it that way. She doesn't commit herself to anything or anyone if she can help it. Neither does she have desire for anything or anyone in particular. Except for blue roses. Real ones. Not those that are artificially dyed. Yeah.

Her wish for a peaceful life was destroyed when one day after school she was suddenly swept away by a mysterious gust of wind and thrown into the demon world. Before she could figure out what the heck was happening, she was captured by a strange-looking man with horns and wings and brought to a market to be sold to the highest bidder!

Along came two buyers, one cute red-haired bishie who wants to bring her back as research material for his professor and one beautiful gold-haired bishie who wants to bring her back as a maid for his master. Both were willing to pay as much as it was needed to have her. The horned+winged guy then asked Kurumi to choose who she wants to go with because he couldn't decide who to sell to. Here, the choice you make will dictate which direction the story goes...

Characters

Leon: LEON-SAMAAA ASDFGHJKL /DEAD *coughs* Leon is a demon. A rich and powerful one. He's self-centered and arrogant. An oresama character. However, due to a certain event (which is revealed later on), he has shut himself away from the rest of the world and stays in his castle all day with only Eins as his tsukaima.

Delta: Delta is also a demon. He's obsessed with science like humans are obsessed with magic. His greatest wish is to build a robot wtf. He's called "hakase" i.e. professor by some people. Kind of a social retard who doesn't know how to read between the lines and speaks bluntly. XD

Eins: Eins is a dragon. He's Leon's tsukaima, the golden-haired bishie who wanted to buy Kurumi to serve as Leon's maid. Gives off a yasashii vibe and speaks in polite form. You know, like desu, masu, deshou, itashimasu, nasai etc etc.

Evans: Another demon. Evans is Delta's research assistant, the red-haired bishie who wanted to buy Kurumi to serve as material for Delta's research. A genki and akarui character. Or so it seems. He's one of the people who calls Delta "hakase".

Luca: Luca!!! HE'S SO DAMN CUTE I SWEAR. That pair of droopy eyes just makes me go "awww". Also, Luca is an incubus! And he's got a personality disorder hahaha. That is, the day!Luca is sweet, innocent and adorable (and speaks at a speed of one word per 10 seconds), but when night comes, he becomes a sexy pervy manbeast. Two for the price of one! XD

Shirosaki Homura: Kurumi's kouhai. Very popular among the girls in school. Good in studies. Good in sports. Has a nice personality too. He's not captureable until you finish all the other characters and a particular Normal route. But what does a human has got to do a story set in a demon world??? Well, we shall see. Heh.

First Impressions

This is one of the first games I got to know about when I first started reading up on otome games. When I first read the storyline, the first thing that came into my mind was "porn" lol. I mean the concept of a girl being sold to someone to be their maid??? Yeah. It's hard to think otherwise. And the title doesn't help things. XD (Well okay, this IS a 18+ game but you get what I mean.)

Favourite character at first sight? Luca!!! In fact, he's the reason why I decided to play this game. That pair of droopy innocent eyes just kills me so. XD And his supposed day/night character difference makes it all the more moe haha. This is probably one of the rare moments in my otome gaming history where a non-main character catches my eye more than a main character. ^^v

New Layout

Welcome to version 2 of Love Sweet Parfait! Featuring the Spring guys from the Starry Sky series~~~ ♥ Initially I wanted to use another Sumire no Tsubomi CG (Kanade!) for the header but uh, I found this cute picture of the Spring guys in one of my folders and decided it's too cute to NOT use it.

By the way, not that anyone would care, but the background on the left side of the banner is pattern-ed from the right side (which is part of the original picture) as I had to accommodate the dimensions required. So if you're thinking that they look inconsistent, you're right haha. I apologise for my bad Photoshop skills. :P

Drama CDs

Due to an unexpected addiction to drama CDs, I haven't been playing otome games for a while now. Every night I'd happily jump into my bed and listen to the drama CDs under the covers. BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD I TELL YOU. To just lie still and do nothing but let the beautiful voices attack your senses. Even better than otome games since you don't even have to move your fingers to click on the screen to progress and make decisions. Also, on weekends, I'd laze in my bed after waking up and continue listening from where I left off the previous night before getting out of the bed hurhurhur. Man this is awesome bad. XD

I think I'll probably do a review on the drama CDs as well...after I figure out which to review first. :P I just listened to an awesome title called Yandere Heaven two days ago and OMG SO HARD-CORE LOLOL. Reminds me of why I don't like yanderes (unless it's Starry Sky hahaha).

Otome Games

Also, remember I ordered Hiiro no Kakera on Play Asia? Well, apparently there's a DELAY in getting the stock from the supplier wtf. And they can't confirm when it'll be available. Siiigh. I understand that it was released in 2008 and thus quite an "old" game so maybe they need to dig into their warehouse to search for it. But if this is the case, I find it kind of deceiving for them to put "usually ships within 1 week" on the website. =/ Or maybe it's because of all the backlogged orders due to Chinese New Year weekend??? Will wait for one more week and decide what to do. Maybe I'll cancel my order and get it from HMV instead. But even HMV says they can't confirm if the stock will be available bah. WTF CAN'T AN OTAKU GET HER GAMES IN PEACE. ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

Update: It's IN STOCK at HMV!!! Hmmm. Guess I'll cancel my order at Play Asia and order from HMV if they still doesn't ship by next week.

Update 22/02: It shipped!!! That's TWO weeks after I placed the order wtf. Now hoping that it will arrive to me safely. I predict it'd take another one to two weeks. That's what you get for being cheapo and taking free shipping.

Just ordered Hiiro no Kakera Portable from Play Asia. First time buying from them. Hope everything goes well! ESPECIALLY THE PAYMENT PART. Please no credit card rejection. No double-charging. No shit of the similar kind. *prays hard* Oh yeah, and please don't tell me like one week later that the item is actually not in stock wtf. *prays harder*

I'd order from CD Japan since they've never screwed up on me before but they don't seem to have it in stock. Plus Play Asia has free shipping! Well, okay, Yes Asia has free shipping too but I've read horror stories of their haphazard packaging so...

And yeah, I'm getting the game first before I get the PSP because I don't think I can stand waiting for 2 weeks for the game to arrive while the console sits on my table.

Next Game Review

Now that I've finally finished reviewing Crazy Rabbits, time to decide which game to review next. Initially I planned to review Starry Sky ~in Spring~ since that was the game I played (or rather, continued playing) after that. But I'm having second thoughts now because I'm planning to get a PSP (those delicious Otomate games are killing me) sometime within the next two months. Which means...STARRY SKY PORTABLE F**K YEAH. :Dv

So considering that the PC version has been reviewed to death by so many people, I thought it'd be better to hold on till I get my hands on the PSP version and review that instead. The only issue I have with this arrangement is that I've already started drafting the review (before I decided to buy the PSP obviously so don't ask why I bothered doing so) and it doesn't sit well with me to have to put it aside now. It's like asking me to hold my pee in after I walked miles to get to the toilet.

But well, I guess I'm still gonna put it aside. Which means I'll most likely be reviewing Ijiwaru My Master instead since that's the next game I moved on to after completing Starry Sky ~in Spring~. (Chinami ni, I've already started drafting the review for IMM. Heh.)

Drama CDs

I don't know why I didn't discover this earlier but drama CDs are possibly the next best thing after otome games. And manga. And anime. Yeah. I was intrigued after reading a review on a Under the Moon drama CD (written by my favourite Japanese otome game blogger) and decided to try it out...except that I couldn't get my hands on it anywhere fml (actually I have it now). Instead I found Ijiwaru My Master ones and OMG SO CUTE!!!!!!

Once I was able to grasp the beauty of the whole drama CD thing, I decided to try out the famous Starry Sky Seiza Kareshi drama CDs and well, I'm NOT looking back now. XD I haven't listen to all of them yet but I highly recommend the Pisces i.e. Kanata's one! The Seiza Danna series are pretty cute too. In fact, I like them more than the Kareshi ones but that's probably because I got to know the series via the games and the Danna series are an extension of the games while the Kareshi ones are kind of a standalone thing.

What I like most though, are the "Roman Tan" series. It's sort of a game extra. I've listened to the Spring and Summer ones, and both are so cute!!! I especially love the Spring one because it was so funny and had a lot of moe stuff going on. Listening to it made me love the Spring guys a lot more. ^^v The Summer one was funny too though not as moe as the Spring one in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I'm also listening to the Danna Catalogue series (also by Honey Bee) as well. :P This is why I won't be able to get a husband. Hmmm. Maybe I should start reviewing drama CDs too. :D

New Layout

Been thinking of making a new layout recently. I'm quite glad that this blog is surviving nicely, considering how my personal journal is dying and that I've tried to set up a blog for my J-pop fandom twice and failed both times haha.

Anyway, yeah, new layout. I'm quite eager to make one except that I love Yanagi-kun *points to header* too much and can't bear to take him down heh. Ya I know I can always use him again for the new layout but this is his best CG in my opinion.

Still, I guess he can't be up there forever. I think I'll just go through my games sometime this weekend and see if I can find a nice CG to use for a header.

To reward you for going through the horrible raep scenes completing the whole game, a bonus talk pops up after you're done with your last ending. Basically a bitching round-table session consisting of Ginji, Unoya, Takumi and Erina.

So yeah, I decided to transcribe the thing so that it's easier to refer to when making personal comments. However, I don't vouch for the accuracy of it. Was stalking reading through the archives of one of my favourite Japanese otome gaming blogs when I stumbled across an interesting post.

That is, apparently when you try to translate 鬼畜 (kichiku) to English via Google Translate, the answer you get is...MEGANE. *chokes on water* LMAO WTF. XD

Crazy★Rabbits ~Wakaresaseya no Usagiri Jimusho~ / Normal End

Normal end clear!

To get to the Normal ending, you basically make your decisions to follow or bump into different guys each day instead of just one of them like you do for the guys' individual routes. Also, since I left this end for the last, it means that I was able to skip through 3/4 of the game before I get to something new.

This is my first time playing a Normal ending so I was quite curious as to how it'd turn out without all the romantic elements. I mean the aim of playing an otome game is to hook up with one of the guys and a Normal ending means that you don't end up with any of them. Conflict much? Yeah. Like why bother if you're not gonna end up with anyone??? So I was pretty surprised when some of the reviews specifically brought up the Normal ending and rated it as their favourite. I mean I personally had this impression that Normal endings are likely to be boring and filler-ish.

Updates from the Otaku

Okay that was quite a break since my last HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!111! post. But I'm almost done with my review (or spoiler report, rather) of the Normal ending for Crazy Rabbits. Aiming to post it by the end of this week!

In other more personal news, I fell sick during the first week of the new year. Go me. Was sick for a totally of 4 days zzz. During which I had a mini otome gaming marathon with Ijiwaru My Master. Managed to complete Eins' and Evans' routes. Man were the characters hard-core lol. Oh, and I also completed all the Normal End routes and finally unlocked Homura's route. Woo. But now I suddenly don't feel like playing the game anymore so I'm ditching it aside and switching to another game hurhurhur. /gets hit No really. I promised myself I won't try to start any new games until I finish up some of those half-played ones but I just went ahead and installed Starry Sky ~in Summer~ and Dessert Love ~Kare to no Hajimari~. /fail But in my defense, I managed to finish Crazy Rabbits and Starry Sky ~in Spring~ before 2010 ended!

Oh yes, and by the way, I discovered that Ono Daisuke had a cameo appearance on Lucky Star acting as himself lol. For those who have no idea, Ono Daisuke is the seiyuu who voiced Itsuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Touzuki Suzuya from Starry Sky ~in Spring~ and Evans from Ijiwaru My Master. I can't believe I never ever put two and two together despite having re-watched the anime for a few times lol.

This is Ono Daisuke apparently. The person who voiced crazy Evans. Lol.

Man I can't believe the day has come where I actually flail over seiyuus. Well, what can I say??? OTAKU-ISM LEVEL UP! XD
